Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan Skip Asha Bhosle Funeral Over Security Reasons, Netizens React To Their Absence

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle was laid to rest in Mumbai on Monday, April 13, with several prominent members of the film and music industry arriving to pay their final respects. However, the absence of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan from the funeral caught everyone’s attention.

Among the three Khans, only Aamir Khan was present at the last rites, while Shah Rukh and Salman were notably missing, despite reports stating that both actors were in Mumbai at the time. According to reports, the two superstars skipped the funeral due to “security reasons.”

As soon as news of their absence surfaced, social media users began reacting strongly. Several netizens criticised the actors, questioning their priorities and pointing out that they had recently attended Anant Ambani’s birthday celebration. One user wrote, “But they attended Ambani’s son's birthday party last week.”

At the same time, others came out in support of the actors, arguing that security concerns for stars of their stature are valid. A user defended them, saying, “Security concerns are real for stars like Shah Rukh Khan & Salman Khan… doesn’t mean lack of respect.”

Despite not being physically present at the funeral, both actors expressed their grief through social media. Salman Khan wrote, “A huge loss for Indian music… Heartbroken to hear about Asha ji. An irreplaceable voice, Your songs will continue to inspire generations.”

Shah Rukh Khan also paid a heartfelt tribute, saying, “It’s truly sad to learn about Asha Tai’s passing… her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema… I will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai… love you.”

Asha Bhosle’s passing marks the end of an era, leaving behind a timeless musical legacy that continues to inspire generations.
